Looking up
Entered this small painting for an exhibition last week, unfortunately it wasn't accepted, but I thought I would share it with you lovely people anyway. Hope you like it, please do let me know what you think. I am not too pleased with her face, she looks a bit cross eyed!
Well anyway, I haven't had a very happy week this week, but hopefully this weekend I will get loads of art done because I have no plans. Mmmmm excited just at the thought of getting all my art bits out and gluing and sticking and cutting and choosing and painting and drawing.
I have been evry inspired by images on other people's blogs recently, and have really enjoyed looking at the ones on my blog list. I am going to redecorate my living room in the Easter holiday so have been looking for inspiration, I will try to share some of my ideas soon.
Take care everyone

Valentines day
What a darling, and he made it up himself buying the bits over the last few weeks, I also got a voucher for a massage. Mmmmmmm!
My present was a bit cheaper (in fact it was free) but I hope just as meaningful. I made him this little fabric book following the design on here, here are some pictures of it:
Would love to know what you all thin of it, it was not as booky as I wanted it to be, was a bit floppy, but I was pleased with the layout.
Hope you all had a happy Valentines day!

the tower is finished
Hi bloggers,
Tonight I finally finished this "tower" that I have been working on for ages. There are a couple of reasons why I made this, firstly I was inspired by the artist Hundertwasser, I am reading a book about him which talked about trying to think like a child when making art, it made me think about when I was at nursery and we made towns and crazy houses out of cereal boxes and toilet roll tubes and things all stuck together. Then my brain made a connection between these and the collage work I have been doing in my little books, it's been a problem because it's so difficult to display them, only one person can see them at a time and they would get damaged if a lot of people handled them, so I though, I know I will do my collages onto boxes, that way I can display my collages in a way that many people can see them without having to touch them. So here is my first attempt, its quite meaningful to me, but not perfect, but then its my first one, hopefully there will be more to come. Hope you like it.

Mini scrap book
Hi Bloggers,
Hope everyone is good today, it's rather grey weather in Reading but have had a great weekend. Went bargain hunting in charity shops in Headington in Oxford on Saturday with my lovely husband and got loads of great stuff for crafting and scrapbooking including 5 vintage music sheets, two doilies and a set of lace trim vintage linen. Very pleased. Today we just did a few bits a pieces and I made up this mini scrap book that I have had waiting for a while now. It was great fun to do and I am pleased with the results, unfortunately I am yet to master the art of taking a good photograph of my stuff so the images are not great. Any tips on photographing these sorts of things would be very welcome.

my lovely things
Hi folks,
Haven't written for ages because I have been really busy and also, haven't really had much to say!
I have had rather a stressful week though, work has been difficult and last week my husband crashed his car, with me in it. Very scary and not something I would like to repeat any time soon.
Anyway to cheer myself up a bit, here is a photo of some of my favorite things. The blanket is from Wales and is made from Welsh wool, it's really big and keeps me warm cuddled up on the sofa. I bought the type writer off Ebay and love it soooo much, I love the colour and the feel of the keys when they type, and the bell that rings when I get to the end of a line. The flask I bought from a gorgeous online shop called Clothears that sells lovely vintage style and gorgeous things. I love it especially because it has an owl on the side, (birds are one of my symbols at the moment). The pile of books is just a selection of my recipe books and a selfsufficiency book I got from a library book sale. I like to covers as well as what is inside.
