Hinton Ampner

I have loads of photos to share with you from over my wonderful Easter holidays.  I can't tell you how fab it has been to have two weeks off work, it feels like a lot longer and I feel like I have used the time really well and done loads of things. I feel very refreshed and relaxed, I just hope this feeling lasts as I go back to work, I know there is going to be some stress in the coming weeks. Anyway, before I start to lament the fact that I have to return to work let me share with you some photos from a National Trust house and garden that we visited a week or so ago; Hinton Ampner:

The gardens here were absolutely glorious and the scent of the flowers was positively heavenly, I actually lay on the grass in the sun and just breathed it all in.

The light was truly beautiful, I felt like I was in bliss at times I wished I could have walked around the garden for longer it was so peaceful and wonderful.

I will share some more photos tomorrow about out visit to Winchester. Hope you have enjoyed your bank holiday weekend (if you had one) and are having a positive and wonderful start to the week.

A Photo An Hour

Today I took one photo per hour from 7am to 7pm.  So here is my day in photos:

7.00am - It's a sunny day, yippee!  Putting the washing on the line after waving my husband off on his way to work.  So housewifey! p.s. the sky was really blue, didn't show on the camera.

8.00am staring on a project that I am going to post a tutorial on when I have finished.

9.00am Put the piggies out in the garden , the light is beautiful, still working on my little project,

10.00am starting a loaf of bread off,

11.00am My tomatoes happily growing in the sun, sitting on the floor, listening to Jack Johnson and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, still working on my project,

12.00pm off the the allotment to do some weeding, want to plant some onions, four a dead mouse under the black plastic, worried that I stepped on it,

1.00pm Didn't plant the onions, or do much weeding, stood talking to my allotment friend David for about an hour!

2.00pm back from the allotment, put the piggies out on the grass and clean out their hutch, keep working on the project,

3.00pm enjoying the sun, working outside in the garden, no need for a cardie because it's so hot, just staring to go pink from standing in the sun too long, oops!

4.00pm using tissue paper on my project, kneed loaf to prove a second time, watching the second Sex and the City movie.

5.00pm making dinner for the hubby and me, first bbq of the year, with this delicious salad!

6.00pm bread ready and out of the oven.

Had a really lovely day today, enjoying he sun and doing a little craft project, Easter holidays next week!  Yippee, got lots of blog posts in mind for the coming weeks.  Can't wait to relax and enjoy myself, visit friends and see my family. ttfn!

Winner!

Hey everyone,

I am happy to announce that by the power of the random number generator:

the winner of the postcard artwork is Bex of Futures, Well done Bex!

These will be winging their way to you very soon:

If you are desperately sad to have missed out on this giveaway but love the cards so much that you simply have to have them in your possession then mosey on over to my shop and you can purchase them for a very reasonable price.

At the moment I am in the process of creating a tutorial for a wreath and am trying in vain to learn to crochet a flower via Youtube.  Not an easy task for someone as inpatient as me I can tell you right now.  Can't wait to share the tutorial with you once it is finished though.

In the mean time please delight yourselves in these photos of our weekend visit to The Vyne, National Trust property that I visited with my Aunt and hubby on Saturday:

Hope you have all had a fabby start to the week.

Home made mannequin

I have had a really fun weekend this weekend with my lovely sister Rose.  She came down on Friday from her University in Wales.  On Friday night we had a very tasty salad for dinner with prawns, bacon and a delish dressing from Pizza Express, then we went to the cinema to see a film called Paul with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, two "nerds" who find an alien.  It was very funny with a LOT of Sci-fi film references, too many for me to pick them all up, (obviously I am not nerdy enough!) Although I was left with a bad taste in my mouth from the OTT piss taking of Christianity, which I felt was unnecessary and did not add anything to the film.  I do get annoyed at how it seems people feel it is acceptable to take the mick out of Christians, when I would never take the micky out of other religions.
On Saturday Rose and I got up early because I had a photo shoot to do in Fleet, it went really well and because it was beautiful weather I got to do some natural light ones outside; the first ones of the year!

Here are a few from the shoot:

After the photo shoot Rose and I drove to Headington in Oxford for some Charity shop-shopping.  I went to University in Oxford and the many charity shops of Headington were a regular haunt.  I was very restrained and came away with just a necklace, Rose got some fab shoes and a few other bits.  We had lunch in the park because it was so sunny.

In the evening we had a yummy home-made lasagne and watched a film.

Today we got up really early and went to a car-boot sale, I got a vintage suitcase which I have been wanting for a while for an artwork I have in mind, Rose got a load of bargain clothes and some DVD's.

This afternoon we had a real giggle making a home made mannequin/dress form.  We followed a tutorial on youtube by threadbangers, I am pleased with the results and hope to start making some of my own clothes.  Here is a photo-by-photo look at how the body form came together:

Felt like a bionic woman at this point

Then felt like I was wearing one of those surgical body supports.

The I felt like  a package, just write an address and put a stamp on me and get me in the post!

The things started to get really silly!

We are so goofy!

Then Rose decided to try it on!!

It was a bit big for her!

Quite hilarious!
