Burlap and Lace Wedding

Hi folks sorry I have been AWOL these last few months, it's been a busy time for me with some unexpected changes to my life which I will share as soon as I feel I can.
I have really missed blogging and have been umming and ahhing about starting a new blog because of the big gaps and inconsistencies of this one, but I am delaying/stalling because I can't think of a new blog name, plus I am worried about losing all you lovely people who read this one.
So anyway, way back in April I went to a wedding of a wonderful family friend, I had no idea what to expect in terms of a theme, dress, anything!  So it was all a lovely surprise and I was so impressed by the elegance and tastefulness of it all.  Some of these are my photos and some belong to the wedding photographer Zelda Martin (the first two and the forth):

This is the third wedding we have been to with Orren and we really enjoyed it.  Orren had a great time dancing to the disco lights and music at the evening function, I wish I had taken more photos but it is so difficult when you are preoccupied with a one year old!  I would loved to have shown you my outfit too as I was pleased with the thriftiness of it.

First BBQ of the year

It was such a beautiful day today we decided to spark up the bbq and get some sausages on the go for the first time this year.  It was 19 degrees at mid-day and perfect cider supping weather so we very much enjoyed sitting in the garden, bap in hand, not a cloud in the sky, wondering what we used to do with out time before baby Orren came along.
Our days are so busy now it really is a wonder that anything ever gets done, I seem to spend every free moment when Orren sleeps or spends time with the hubby cleaning or doing laundry! But I am loving nearly every minute of it, he really is a joy and my heart melts every time I look at his sweet face.  I can't say it isn't hard work but it is totally worth it.  Today's relaxation in the sun truly was a rare moment of peace in our otherwise chaotic and busy schedule.  I am hoping as things settle down and the visits from friends and family become more of a special treat that a daily occurrence; that I will be able to blog a bit more and get into more of a routine of posting than I have done over the last few months.  I might even get a few craft tutorials into the blogging schedule to boot!
I the mean time please enjoy these photos of our bbqing escapades and enjoy your Sunday (hopefully it will be as sunny as Saturday).

Some things that made me happy today

A beautiful sunny day so the hubby and I set of for an afternoon at The Vyne, a nearby National Trust house and gardens.  We took their woodland walk and thoroughly enjoyed the sun through the leaves and the wind in the pine needles followed by a cream tea. Here are some things that made me smile:

Beautiful red leaves

Last butterfly of the season?

Tasty cream tea and carrot cake,

The sun shining through the leaves,

This bench with it's inspirational message "Reach for the stars"...

So I did!

What has made you smile so far this weekend?

Mori Girl Levitation

Hi folks,

I came across this wonderful photographer the other day and thought you would like to see her beautiful photographs.  The images of yowayowa "levitating"  are beautiful in their own right but in my mind some of her photographs have a Mori feel to them which just makes me love them even more:

I could just keep on posting her images, they are so wonderful.  Click on the image to visit her website to see more.

Inside my Parents House

So as you know I was in Wales for the past few days visiting my lovely Ma and Pa, helping them around the house and with the ponies, but more importantly SHOPPING!  Yes we had a wonderful time in the YMCA shop, several fantastic and huge pound shops and of course a range of charity shops.  I got many bargains including some rather wonderful vinyl number stickers for my recycling bins featuring some fishing gnomes!  What could be better?
Anyhow while I was at my mum and dads house I observed some of the lovely artefacts they had round the house and thought it might be lovely to share some of them with you for you all to enjoy.

This is a painting by an artist friend of my parents called Terence Clarke, they have a few of his paintings which are all really beautiful:

An Orchid that I moved to the work surface in the kitchen:

A selection of old artefacts inherited from mu grandparents:

A vase of poppy heads and two small ceramic vases/pots that I made and gave to my mum as a present:

Hope you are all having a good week, I will hopefully have a tutorial for you all to enjoy tomorrow.  Anyone doing anything exciting over Easter?
