New stash

What a great day!  After much effort, stress and anxiety  I pulled off a pretty amazing lesson for my observation (even if I do say so myself!). My class were brilliant, really well behaved and seemed to say all the right things to the headmaster who was observing me. I was really chuffed when I received my feedback which was "Good" (the scale being unsatisfactory, satisfactory, good, outstanding) I only got satisfactory last time I was very happy after.

Then to top the day off, I got home from work to find my monthly subscription scrap booking kit from Sarah's cards ltd had arrived, wasn't expecting it till tomorrow, so spent a good half hour opening everything, examining it, laying it out and putting it all back into it's bags! (I know...how sad!)
I can't wait to order some photos and get crafting with them.
Take a look at the stash:

I know, I got a bit carried away with the photo taking!

Happy thrifty Sunday part 1

I have had such a lovely day today that it warrents two posts!
The day began with a delicious combination of homemade lemon curd on three slices of toasted cottage loaf and a large mug of Earl Grey (who knew it would be such a wonderful combination), followed closely by a trip to "Reading's biggest car boot sale!" and ended with a trip to a National Trust property called Grey's Court.
It really was very enjoyable and it is days like these that I look back and think, that really was a perfect day.

Delicious tea and toast, the pefect way to start a thrifting day.

My purchases neatly stacked

All spread out, take a look at the amazing 1970's table cloth and matching napkins!!

You know I just can't get enough doilies!

I love old photographs for collaging, especially wedding ones.

Vintage maps for crafting.

Close up of matching napkins.

A selection of blue plates for my blue plate collection, I am going to get some dichangers so I can finally hang them all on the wall.

When I came home from my thrifting trip my husband looked at my grinning face and said "oh no, she has got crazy eyes!".  He knew I had a stash of fabulousness in my rucksac!

Coming tomorrow....our trip to Grey's court.
Hope you have a wonderful week ahead everyone.

Fabulous Car Boot Find

What a find!!

Went to a car boot sale in Reading on Sunday, the biggest in Reading apparently!  It was brilliant, we arrived quite near the end and people were already starting to pack their things away, so we were rushing around a bit but quite quickly I noticed something peeking out of a box.  At first I noticed the colour, a lovely sagey green colour, and it was the shape of a polaroid camers, in fact I thought it was a camera at first but on closer inspection I read that it was a solar viewer, I didn't really know what this was and didn't know if it worked but asked the price and imagine my joy when the seller asked for just £2.00!
I though, even if it doesn't work it would look lovely on a shelf, so I snapped it up.
I inspected the inside when I got home and discovered that it was a sort of slide projector that you look into to view slides of photographs; it needed three batterys.  It already had a bulb which looked like it would still work and also came with instructions and several sets of slides from some elderly couple's holidays.
My lovely hubby broought home some batterys this evening and I tested out, it worked!!  What loveliness.  And to make things even more wonderful one of the sets of slides in from Mont Serratt in Spain, a place where we went on holiday a couple of years ago!!
Here are some pictures of my wonderful find.

Someplete with instructions and several sets of slides!

Happy days.

Also snapped up two crocheted table cloths and two crocheted doilies, a plastic yellow lemon squeezer and two books of cigarette cards, one of flowers and one of butterflies.

Mini scrap book

Hi Bloggers,
Hope everyone is good today, it's rather grey weather in Reading but have had a great weekend.  Went bargain hunting in charity shops in Headington in Oxford on Saturday with my lovely husband and got loads of great stuff for crafting and scrapbooking including 5 vintage music sheets, two doilies and a set of lace trim vintage linen.  Very pleased.  Today we just did a few bits a pieces and I made up this mini scrap book that I have had waiting for a while now.  It was great fun to do and I am pleased with the results, unfortunately I am yet to master the art of taking a good photograph of my stuff so the images are not great.  Any tips on photographing these sorts of things would be very welcome.

Have a great week everyone.
