Armed Forces Week

It's Armed Forces Week here at Serendipitychild.  Although I am a pacifist myself, I can't help admire the bravery and selflessness of our Armed Forces here in the UK and around the world, I have many friends and relatives in the Forces so am dedicating this week to them so as not to forget that they are out there.

Today I would like to introduce you to Ian Best who is in the RAF, I met him a few weeks ago and he showed me some of the amazing photographs that he has taken whilst based in Afghanistan and I would like to share them with you today.  He really is a stunning photographer who has a real eye for capturing beauty in the most unlikely of places:

The Armed Froces also do charity work in Nanyuki.

To view more of Ian's amazing photos visit his page on Flickr, he is called HusbandofEmily.

  1. Hi again!
These are fantastic photos as you say, also I had no idea that they did charity work as well as soldiering. That never seems to get into the news now does it?
I have made a couple of quilts for soldiers returning injured - you have inspired me to make more. Thank you.
